Allan Long

Allan LongAllan Long has been involved in the ICT industry since the early days joining IBM in 1965, and has worked in Business Continuity since 1992. Allan brings a range of experience from engineering, senior management, and major sales. As a senior specialist on disk and processor systems in the mid 70’s he was asked to go to IBM’s development labs in Raleigh North Carolina, and was the disk and processor specialist for the development of IBM’s very first PC. This was manufactured in 1975, but at that time IBM decided ‘it would never catch on’ – and it was only used for engineering support! He has previously managed teams of engineers supporting two of the UK’s largest banks and later became a senior manager running the IBM UK parts operation, a key project manager for the development of the new IBM Voice and Data switch. Allan moved into Major Accounts Sales roles working with Ford, JP Morgan & London based Japanese banks. Since 1992 Allan has focused his experience in  Business Continuity, rapidly developing a first class reputation, several times breaking new ground with innovative contracts and solutions, and opened several new recovery centres.
